Other Critique - Learning 2 Earn
Phase 4
What did they do well?
They made a lot of improvements from when we initially reviewed their site two weeks ago. They managed to save filters when returning to model pages which we wanted to do, but did not have time for, and they also managed to add loading icons to their website, which really improved the professional appearance of their website. We really liked their searching which was able to find keywords across a wide range of data within an instance and it displayed that information in a very clean way.
What did we learn from their api / website?
We learned that drop down filter menus with react-select are very convenient and easier to use than text boxes, which we implemented in our own site as a result.
What can they do better?
We felt that the website didn't look very nice and that the instance detail pages didn't display enough information and were too static. Many of the images on the model pages look blurry and they used these even more blown up versions of these images for the details pages. The details pages themselves didn't display very much information or have anything to in interact with.
What puzzles us about their api / website?
We felt that we should be able to filter courses and jobs by related subject since that seemed like something a user might want to know. We also felt that the way they display related models on the details page of each instance was very unappealing and confusing.
