Other Critique - SWEat Tea
Phase 3
Note:
We did not end up watching another group present because we were the odd group out, and Professor Downing asked us to present our project to him at the time when we were supposedly going to watch another group's presentation. However, based on what we discussed with SWEat Tea, we can say the following.
What did they do well?
They used their React frameworks well to sort and filter the data on the front-end. In addition, their website was less error prone. They took care of user errors such as entering a bad URL or a bad ID for any of the models.
Also, their grid cards are clickable, and it gives the user more feedback when hovering over the grid cards. We plan on following this example in the next phase.
What did we learn from their api / website?
We learned about how it is possible to sort and filter on the front-end. We did all of our sorting and filtering on the back-end, so this was a new insight.
What can they do better?
Their search function was completely text based, so it would only display text results. For us, we displayed cards that had matched search results along with the photos and grid card information. Ours looked more aesthetically pleasing since it had pictures to look at.
What puzzles us about their api / website?
We're not sure to be honest, since we didn't get a chance to watch them present. We do wonder in what situations their API could be used in.
