Phase 1
What did they do well?
They did an extremely impressive job with their site already, and it is very pleasing aesthetically.
They showed masterful use of the Bootstrap framework, and we really liked the effects triggered by hovering over images.
We also thought their About page was SUPER cool, since they use Bitmojis to make caricatures of all their team members.
The site already works quite well and all the links that we tried worked.
What did we learn from their api / website?
They gave us some very good advice on not making our website stale by adding variety for every content type - to improve our site using their comments, we will probably use different layouts for our Hotels, Restaurants, and Attractions detail pages.
What can they do better?
They can certainly hook their site up to an API (since it's currently hard-coded) and make sure that they make their pages dynamic. At some point they'll have to switch over to using ReactJS instead of static pages, and that is likely to be quite a hassle (as it was for us).
What puzzles us about their api / website?
None of the images had any captions indicating who the photographer was, what camera was used to capture the images, or where the picture was taken.
We also thought that they should do a better job of linking their Camera model to the rest of the site - maybe by identifying what camera was used to take a particular image of the National Park, and include the shopping page for that camera as a link nearby.
